A head louse is a tiny, wingless parasitic insect that lives in human hair and feeds on blood drawn from the scalp. One natural remedy is by using onion juice. Extract the juice from an onion and apply this to the roots of the hair and the scalp. Leave the juice on for 3 to 4 hours then rinse the hair with shampoo to remove the dead lice. The sulfur content of the onion juice will kill the lice. Do this for three consecutive days as the eggs of the lice will not be removed during the initial treatment.

There are other natural remedies for lice. As a parent, knowing a remedy or two for lice can be really helpful so you can treat your child immediately and prevent the spreading of it.
